As described in Technology Tip of the Week Visual CASEL series, the computer screens are a changin'. Another element that will be different is the opening Log In screen. In this week's tip, we will show you how to access this all-important screen. Tip #13: Visual CASEL Part III - That was then... this is now... Definitions: Visual CASEL: A security-type software program designed to run in the Windows environment background. ALT: The ALT keys are located either side of the space bar on most computer keyboards. Focus: In computereze, the term focus refers to that window (or screen) that is considered active. The active window is the one with the blue top border while other visible windows (inactive) will have grayed top borders. When you turn on your workstation, the following screen appears as shown below. The surrounding border is grayed showing that it is not the active or focused window.
By pressing the ALT-TAB key combination, the Log In screen has focus and the border turns that all-familiar blue color. The Username: edit field contains the blinking vertical cursor and you are ready to log onto the network.
Special Thanks to Mrs. Barbara Capralos for this week's tip suggestion. |
