Tech Tip of the Week

Microsoft, like many software firms, is continually upgrading their products by way of software patches which are now available on the Internet. Although the District's Technology staff (TSS/ISS) maintains the networks with the latest releases, you may not be aware of Microsoft's upgrade services. In this week's Technology Tip of the Week, we will show you how to check to see if your home version of Microsoft Office is up-to-date.

Tip #15: Technology Upgrades - Keeping your software up to date...

Definitions: Patch: A software patch is a mini program used to correct existing software. The corrections may be in the form of software bugs, performance improvements or hardware accessibility.

Microsoft has a website whose URL is: http://www.officeupdate.microsoft.com. This site is free to users for downloading software patches for pre-existing Microsoft Office versions '95, '97 and 2000 software. The site's homepage appears below:

From this site you may easily download those patches you require from any of the current Microsoft Office versions as well as discover what Microsoft has to offer in upcoming versions.
