Tech Tip of the Week

A number of Technology Tip of the Week issues have been focused on email and accomplishing simple tasks using this ever-popular tool. One of our users asked how to add another ID to a CC line without creating a distribution list. This Technology Tip of the Week will address that issue.

Tip #24: Return to E-mail Issues - Is there Room for One More?

Adding another ID to an email list is simple and can be done in a couple of ways. The first is manually. Whenever you begin an email to a someone, you probably know the address or ID to enter into the To: field as shown below:

Now, to add another email ID, simply place a comma after the last ID and continue as shown:

Another method is to use the Recently used addresses list which is accessed by clicking on the question mark (?) to the right of the To: and Cc: fields as shown above. Clicking on this button will give you a list of your most recent email IDs - see below.

Double-clicking on the ID of choice - OR - clicking on the ID and then clicking on the Paste button will automatically insert the appropriate comma and ID in one! Clicking on the Close button will return you to your email chores.

NOTE: Personal email services may use an alternate format - such as a semicolon between email ID addresses on a common line but most will follow this scheme. You will have to consult with your carrier and software to determine what format is used.

Special thanks to Mrs. Ellen Botto this week's tip suggestion.
