Every once in a while we are asked a question about the purpose an obscure icon or button serves in a particular application. This week's Technology Tip of the Week answers one of those questions as it applies to Pegasus Mail. Hope you enjoy! Tip #28: Pegasus Email - What are those Symbols For? DEFINITIONS: When you receive an email through Pegasus Mail, you may notice a number of colored symbols in the first column - just to the left of the From column. For reference, we will call this the Message Status Column. These symbols fall into four basic categories:
Now for an example - let's look at a sample Pegasus New mail folder as shown in Figure 1. To better display where these indicators are located in Pegasus Mail, examine the sample Pegasus folder in Figure 1 below. Unfortunately, none of the indicators are triangles as all of the email traffic in Figure 1 is from Pegasus to Pegasus within the District. However, the other indicators are visible and noted in the figure.
Hopefully this week's Technology Tip of the Week helps you to understand part of your Pegasus mail workstation tool and helps to demystify those symbols found in the Message Status Column. Special thanks to Mrs. Ellen McLane for this week's tip! |
