Sex Offender Notification
When the district becomes aware of an imminent threat, such as an attempted abduction or when notified by police about a potential danger, we will distribute that information to the following:
1. Principals, teachers, and staff at all schoolsIn addition, when the school district is made aware of potentially dangerous situations or individuals, letters will also be sent home with elementary and middle school students. Please check your child’s backpack regularly for these and all other school notices. When appropriate, we will also discuss potential threats with our students.
2. All school bus drivers and transportation personnel
3. PTA officers
4. Arlington website and school newsflashes (where available)
Remember that the best protection we can provide to children is to teach them about personal safety. Most sex offenders are not strangers, but persons known to a child.
